Riedel values you as a business partner, applicant:in and website visitor. When you interact with us, we collect and process certain personal data from you. This privacy notice explains how Riedel uses the personal data you provide to us and what rights and options you have in this regard.

Below you will find information about which personal data (this is all data that identifies or makes identifiable you as a natural person (hereinafter "data subject"), such as name, address, e-mail address or even user behavior) we collect during your visit to our site and how it is used. Data subjects are visitors to our website and users of our online services.

2. Data subject rights

According to Art. 15 DSGVO, you have the right to receive information about the data stored about you, including any recipients and the planned storage period. If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification in accordance with Art. 16 DSGVO. If the legal requirements are met, you may request the deletion or restriction of processing as well as object to processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 DSGVO).

If you wish data to be deleted but we are still legally obliged to retain it, access to your data will be restricted (blocked). The same applies in the event of an objection. You can exercise your right to data portability insofar as the technical possibilities are available to the recipient and to us.

If you are of the opinion that the processing of personal data concerning you violates the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority responsible for us, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, https://www.ldi.nrw.de/, as well as with any other data protection supervisory authority.

3. Legal basis

The legal bases of our data processing are as follows according to Art. 13 DSGVO:

  • Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 a) DSGVO for the processing of personal data with the consent of the data subject.
  • Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 b) DSGVO for the necessary processing of personal data for the performance of a contract with the data subject as well as for the implementation of corresponding pre-contractual measures.
  • Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 c) DSGVO for the necessary processing of personal data for the fulfillment of a legal obligation to which we are subject pursuant to any applicable law of the EU or pursuant to any applicable law of a country in which the DSGVO is applicable in whole or in part.
  • Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 f) DSGVO for the necessary processing of personal data to protect the legitimate interests of us or of third parties, unless the fundamental freedoms and rights and interests of the data subject prevail.
  • Legitimate interests are in particular our business interest in being able to provide our website, information security, the enforcement of our own legal claims and compliance with other legal provisions.

For this purpose, we use service companies that are separately committed to confidentiality and data protection as part of the service provision. Data will only be passed on to public authorities in the event of overriding legal requirements.

4. Right of revocation

Consents given can be revoked by you with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 DSGVO.

5. Data security

This website uses "Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure" (https). The connection between your browser and our server is encrypted.

6. Purposes of processing

The purpose of data processing on this website is to provide information about products and services of our company, for communication and application processing with the possibility for users to make targeted contact with in-house contacts.

Insofar as you have provided us with personal data, we use it to respond to your inquiries, to advise you and process contracts concluded with you, and for technical administration. Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties or otherwise transferred if this is necessary for the purpose of contract processing or for billing purposes or if you have given your prior consent. You have the right to revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future (see right of revocation).

The legal basis for the collection, processing and forwarding of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 b) DSGVO in the context of contract processing.

Revocation: The deletion of this data takes place after the expiry of the applicable statutory retention obligations. If we are not subject to any statutory retention obligations, the data will be deleted when the purpose ceases to apply. You have the right to information and the right to object to your data stored by us at any time. You can find further information under "Data subject rights" and "Right of revocation".

7. Server data collection

Purpose of processing

When you visit our website, various server statistics are automatically stored, which your browser transmits to our provider's server: Among other things, the IP address of your device, date and time of access, name and URL of accessed files, website from which access is made or from which you were directed to our site (referrer URL), browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your device and the name of your provider are logged.

We process the aforementioned data for the purposes of smooth connection establishment and system security. A combination of this data with other data sources is not made. The IP address is anonymized. The accruing connection data is automatically deleted; usually after a maximum of seven days. If the website is misused, log data whose further storage is necessary for evidentiary purposes will be retained until the incident has been clarified.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 f) DSGVO.

8. Contact form and request by e-mail

Purpose of processing

When using our contact form, we collect and store the name and e-mail address for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. The specification of the telephone number for a callback is optional. If you send us a contact request by e-mail, we collect and store the e-mail address and the data contained in the e-mail.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 a) DSGVO, as you consent to the above processing of your data when using the form as well as sending an e-mail. In addition, the legal basis also arises from Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 b), as the storage of data is necessary for the fulfillment of a pre-contractual or possibly later contractual relationship.

The deletion of the data takes place when the purpose of the storage has ceased to exist, i.e. after answering your e-mail/contact form inquiry or when the matter related to the inquiry has been conclusively clarified.

Revocation: You have the right to revoke the consent given at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent.

9. Applications

Purpose of processing

Applications by contact form, e-mail or post: If you apply to us on the basis of a job advertisement, we will collect your personal data such as first name, surname, address, telephone number, e-mail address, attachments (cover letter, CV, certificates, photo) and store them for the duration of the selection procedure.

Your data will be used exclusively by authorized persons in the HR department or management for processing within the scope of the selection procedure. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties.

If the specific position for which you are applying has already been filled by someone else, but your profile makes you eligible for future employment, we will obtain your express consent before further storing or forwarding your application, unless you have already consented to such storage or forwarding in your application.

If you send us an unsolicited application using our general contact e-mail address, the content of your application e-mail may be viewed by unauthorized personnel. There is a requirement that the application documents are forwarded unopened immediately to the personnel department and the incoming e-mail is deleted. If you would like to exclude this, please contact us by telephone before submitting your unsolicited application so that we can provide you with the contact details of the correct contact person.

Unless you inform us otherwise, the data will be deleted 6 months after completion of the application process, or destroyed in the case of postal applications. Due to the long application and selection periods for trainees, we store their data in Germany for up to 18 months.

The legal basis is Art. 6 I (b) DSGVO, for processing pre-contractual measures.

Revocation: You have the following rights, if the respective legal requirements are met: the right to information about your data stored by us; correction, deletion, restriction of the processing of your data or objection to the processing, as well as data portability. Furthermore, you have of course the possibility to request the deletion or destruction of all your application documents at any time by sending us an e-mail to: bewerbung(at)riedel-filtertechnik.com.

10. CleverElements (currently inactive)

Purpose of processing

This website uses CleverElements to send newsletters. The provider is CleverElements GmbH, Prinzessinnenstr. 19-20, 10969 Berlin (Germany). With the help of CleverElements, it is possible for us to organize and analyze our newsletter campaigns. Among other things, we can see whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. In this way, we can determine, among other things, which links were clicked on particularly often. CleverElements also allows us to subdivide newsletter recipients according to different recipient categories (e.g. place of residence). In this way, the newsletters can be better adapted to the respective target groups. If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected or only on a voluntary basis. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored on CleverElements' servers in Germany. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO, your consent.

Revocation: You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter.

The data you provide for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from the servers of CleverElements after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

11. Matomo

Purpose of processing

We use Matomo to analyze website usage. The data obtained from this is used to optimize our website as well as advertising measures. Matomo is a web analytics service that is operated and provided locally by us. No data is passed on to third parties. We use Matomo without cookies.

Your IP address is anonymized in the process.

During your website visit, your user behavior is recorded in the form of "events". Events can be:

  •     First visit to the website
  •     Start of session
  •     Your "click path", interaction with the website
  •     Scrolling behavior
  •     Clicks on external links
  •     Interaction with videos
  •     File downloads
  •     Ads viewed / clicked
  •     Language setting

Also recorded:

  •     Your approximate location (region)
  •     Your IP address (in shortened form)
  •     Technical information about your browser and the end devices you use (e.g. language setting, screen resolution)
  •     Your Internet service provider
  •     The referrer URL (via which website / via which advertising medium you came to this website)

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 (a) DSGVO, your consent.

Revocation: You have the option at any time to revoke your consent to the storage of data in the terminal device as well as the transfer of data to third parties with effect for the future by calling up the privacy settings and changing your selection there.  The lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation remains unaffected.

12. Google Maps

Purpose of processing

You can view a map after consenting to data sharing. If you wish to view the Google Map map, personal data will be sent to the operator of the map, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, parent company: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; and cookies are set by the operator. Therefore, it is possible that the provider stores your accesses and can analyze your behavior. The privacy policy of Google Maps can be found at: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Notice on processing of your data collected on this website in the USA by Google: By clicking on "Yes, share data and load map on this page.", you consent at the same time according to Art. 49 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO that your data will be processed in the USA. The USA is assessed by the European Court of Justice as a country with an insufficient level of data protection according to EU standards. In particular, there is a risk that your data may be processed by U.S. authorities, for control and for monitoring purposes, possibly also without any legal remedy.

Revocation: You have the option at any time to revoke your consent to the storage of data in the terminal device as well as the data transfers to third parties with effect for the future by calling up the privacy settings and changing your selection there.  The lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent until the revocation remains unaffected.

13. Topicality and change of this privacy policy

We reserve the right to adapt the content of this data protection declaration at any time. This usually occurs in the event of further development or adaptation of the services used. You can view the current data protection declaration on our website.
